Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Roads Development Engineer to oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of road infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, road design, and project management, ensuring the successful execution of road development projects in compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, and oversee road development projects, including highways, urban roads, and rural access roads.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and environmental impact assessments.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and project cost estimates.
• Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with design plans, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders for project approvals and execution.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with local and international road construction codes and standards.
• Utilize engineering software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and GIS tools for design and analysis.
• Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in road design and construction.
• Proficiency in road design software (e.g., Civil 3D, MX Road, AutoCAD, GIS).
• Strong knowledge of highway design, drainage, pavement materials, and soil mechanics.
• Experience working with government agencies, consultants, and contractors.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with FIDIC contracts and public infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of sustainable road construction techniques.
• Familiarity with road safety audits and traffic impact assessments.
• Strong project management and contract negotiation skills.
