Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Career Counselor to join our team and assist job seekers in navigating their career paths. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in career development, job market trends, and interview coaching, with a passion for helping individuals achieve career success. In this role, you will work closely with clients to provide personalized career advice, enhance their job search strategies, and help them align their professional aspirations with realistic opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one career counseling to clients, helping them identify career goals, strengths, and areas for growth.
• Offer guidance on resume development, job search strategies, and networking techniques.
• Conduct mock interviews with clients, offering feedback and advice to help improve performance.
• Assist clients in identifying transferable skills and exploring new career opportunities.
• Provide insights into job market trends and industry-specific requirements.
• Guide clients in setting realistic career goals and create actionable plans to achieve them.
• Help clients develop their personal brand, including LinkedIn profile optimization and personal statement writing.
• Offer support to clients at all stages of their job search, from initial exploration to final offer negotiation.
• Stay updated on the latest career development resources, industry trends, and employment opportunities.
• Collaborate with resume writers and other team members to provide comprehensive support to clients.
• Maintain confidential client records and track progress in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in career counseling, coaching, or human resources, with a focus on career development and job search strategies.
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian job market, industry trends, and employer expectations.
• Experience conducting mock interviews and providing feedback to job seekers.
• Exceptional communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients with varying needs.
• Certification or relevant training in career coaching or counseling (e.g., Certified Career Development Practitioner, Certified Professional Career Coach) is a plus.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help clients achieve their professional goals.
• Familiarity with job search tools, LinkedIn, and other professional networking platforms.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed client records.
• Ability to provide remote support through video calls, email, and other communication channels.
