Noolaham Foundation (NF) is a legally registered (GA 2390), non-profit, non-partisan, secular entity, founded to provide enhanced access to information sources and foster knowledge-based development in Sri Lanka. Noolaham Digital Library (noolaham.org) and Noolaham Multimedia Archive (aavanaham.org) maintained by the Noolaham Foundation serve as Learning Centres incorporating local knowledge. The digital library and archive function as a repository for various community institutions and fulfill the information needs of students, researchers, historians, activists and the public.
- Research Manager
Noolaham Foundation aims to strengthen scholarly research in the Sri Lankan Tamil speaking communities and seeks to build a conscious archival practice that is informed by research. Working in close partnership with the leadership team (Chief Executive Officer and Program Manager), the Research Manager will be responsible for building Noolaham Foundation’s research network and team. A leader in their respective field of expertise, the Research Manager will guide, oversee, and assess the quality of Noolaham’s multi-phased programs and projects, increasing the scholarly value of these initiatives. The Research Manager will also design, evaluate, and execute research components of NF work. Managing all aspects of new and existing research-focused programs/ projects from inception to completion, the Research Manager will be the single point of contact for all research activities.
- Programme Manager
The Programme Manager is responsible for the successful management of Noolaham Foundation Sri Lanka, multi-phased programs and projects by leading cross-functional project teams and volunteer force to define, scope, plan, execute and deliver exceptional value on time and within budget in accordance with the APB. The program manager will manage all aspects of new and existing programs/projects from start to finish and be the single point of contact for all program activities, schedule and status. This position receives very broad guidance from management and requires a high level of initiative and problem solving ability.
3. Advocacy, Communication and Public Relation Sector Lead
The Advocacy, Communication and Public Relation - Sector Lead is responsible for the successful management of NF related information systems, products, and public relationships. The Advocacy, Communication and Public Relation - Sector Lead will manage all aspects of communication strategies in new and existing programs/projects from start to finish and be the single point of contact for all communication and publication related activities in coordination with the programme manager and dedicated director of the board. This position receives very broad guidance from management and requires a high level of initiative and innovative skills.
4. Field Researcher - Kilinochchi Regional Documentation
The Field Researcher will work in close collaboration with the Collections & Metadata team and Digital Preservation team. He/She will be primarily responsible for the following: 1) identifying archival records (including social and political ephemera, commemorative publications, historical photographs, and other rare or diverse documents), 2) obtaining open access permission for archiving, and 3) digitising the materials for preservation, in accordance with Noolaham’s Digital Preservation policy and the standards of Noolaham Foundation.
5. Digital Library Officer - Metadata
The Metadata officer will work in close collaboration with the Digital Preservation team and Collections & Metadata team to ensure that the digital resources and their description are according to standards established by Noolaham. Develops descriptive metadata for digital resources. Contributes to the Communications team by providing content to highlight the content and activities of Noolaham Foundation.This role also is responsible for providing reference services, including promptly responding to reference requests via various channels and responsible for rights management research and rights management metadata.
